Establishing a Good Contact Lens Fit
Fitting lenses to your lifestyle
We will determine the best fitting lens based on your lifestyle needs and the shape and health of your eye. In most cases, you’ll have the opportunity to try lenses on the same day as your exam. You can even go home with a few samples before making a final decision.
Contact Lens Prescriptions
Contact lenses must be fit appropriately to your eye because the contact lens comes in direct contact with the tissues of your eye. Comfort and optimal vision can only result if the contact lens fits correctly in a healthy visual environment. A prescription can only be determined by the careful observation of the lens on the eye and the eye’s response to the lens. For these reasons, it is the patient’s responsibility to keep all appointments and follow-up visits.
Follow up fittings
We follow up the initial fitting and then make any necessary changes in fit or materials to get you the best possible vision. We teach our patients proper contact lens care and possible consequences if proper care is not taken. Then we continue with long-term follow-up to monitor the condition of the lenses and to ensure that proper hygiene is being maintained.
Payment
Fees for the comprehensive exam, contact lens fitting, or annual contact lens checks are due at the time of service. A 50% deposit is required for all contact lens orders, with the exception of trial lenses. Fitting fees for first-time wearers range from $100 to $150. This fee is non-refundable and due at the time of service. We accept cash, checks, VISA, MasterCard, Discover Card and Care Credit.
